A large medical center, part of a large health system, is seeking a Radiation Oncologist for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located in Long Branch, New Jersey.

About the clinician's workday

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with a daily patient volume of 20-25 on treatment. Hospital privileges are required and take 45-60 days. The EMR and treatment planning systems include Aria/Eclipse for radiation treatments and Epic for clinic visits. Responsibilities include managing SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, 3D treatment patients, and potentially brachytherapy (skin, prostate, gyn onc HDR). Equipment includes Accuray Tomotherapy and Elekta Versa HD. Board certification and an active state license are required.

Additional job details

• Case load/PPD: 20-25 ppd on treatment
• Support staff: RN's support clinic, considering using APP's to assist with fup visits. RT's physicists, Dosimetrists
• Patient population: Adults
• Call ratio/schedule: Currently, the 2 providers rotate 1 months at a time, nights and weekends. Locums coverage will be TBD
• Location type: On-Site
• # of new consults: 0-2
• Treament type(s): Management of SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, 3D treatment patients. Brachytherapy – Skin, prostate, and gyn onc HDR (however, may not be feasible to add to radioactive license)
