Clinical/Forensic Psychology Practicum Trainees and Pre-Doctoral Interns

The Family Violence & Sexual Assault Institute (FVSAI) dba Institute on Violence, Abuse & Trauma (IVAT) invites applications for student trainees needing internship and practicum experiences. The training program includes forensic and clinical training, education, and opportunities for research.

Trainees will have opportunities in both forensic and clinical work centered on issues of trauma. Trainees will have opportunities be involved in civil, criminal, family and juvenile justice forensic matters. Trainees will also carry a clinical caseload, serving individuals of all ages, and may also include family, couples, and group modalities. IVAT provides services at our nonprofit community clinic and with our various community providers, including domestic violence, juvenile justice, trauma, and crisis intervention. Trainees are involved in forensic assessment, direct clinical care, and community consultation. Trainees receive an hour of weekly individual supervision by a licensed psychologist, as well as two hours of weekly group supervision. Training activities also include two hours of weekly didactics in clinical and forensic psychology, as well as consultation and other supervision with staff and associates. Receiving excellent, advanced, supervised clinical and forensic training is at the heart of IVAT training. There are additional opportunities for grant writing, research, and article publishing.
