Geriatric Psychiatrist Needed in Virginia
• Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatrist
• Board Certified
• Admissions Unit
• Full-Time Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm
• Geriatric Patients
• Up to 10 patients/day
• 19 bed Admissions Unit. Duties shared with LT Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner & 2 Medical Nurse Practitioners. Unit used for stabilization before move to other units
• 1-2 admissions/day to unit. Have seen as many as 4. If discharged while still in the department, they will be responsible for the discharge if assigned to the patient.
• Types of Cases: Psychosis, Bi-Polar Disorder, Dementia, Anxiety.
• Patients mostly spend 2 weeks in the Admissions unit.
• Support: 2 Psychiatrist and 3 Nurse Practitioners in the Hospital. They use PC Physicians for medical care.
• Unit has RNs, LPNs and Aides,
