Location: This upstate South Carolina town is situated in the beautiful foothills of South Carolina and on the shores of Lake Greenwood. It is a three-hour drive to Charleston’s beautiful beaches, two hours to the Appalachian Mountains, and equivalent distances to both Atlanta and Charlotte. It is known for its desirable climate and the numerous lakes in close proximity. It offers year-round golf, seasonal watersports and excellent hunting and fishing opportunities. Facility: Non-profit hospital that is the region’s largest employer and enjoys the benefit of a large, private endowment ensuring its financial solvency. It provides care to the residents of Greenwood, Abbeville, Laurens, Saluda, McCormick, Edgefield and Newberry Counties. Opportunity: Seeking BC/BE Psychiatrist for Medical Director role * 40 hours per week or 7 on/7 off * Adult Acute Care unit that currently has 16 beds. * The provider sees patients on the inpatient unit sharing those responsibilities with an APP and sees consults on the medical tower. * Help determine admissions from the Emergency Department. * Approximately 4 patients per provider plus patients needing consult on the medical tower - usually 1-3 patients per day. * Participate in the strategic direction of Behavioral Health, support improvement in the care of this patient population and partner with service line leadership to achieve these goals. * 4 APPs to support inpatient and outpatient services. * 5 fulltime therapists * EMR: Epic Compensation: Competitive starting salary depending on experience.
