Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, a 72-bed Joint Commission/CMS accredited state psychiatric inpatient facility located in Danville, VA, is seeking a part-time (wage) Nurse Practitioner to provide high quality general medical care for hospitalized patients with mental disorders.

The candidate will be responsible for performing physical and neurological examinations on newly admitted patients and taking care of sick calls. The candidate will order appropriate diagnostic workup, provide recommendations for outside consults, prescribe appropriate medication and treatment, and perform other related clinical duties as needed or requested by the Medical Director.

This position will work a weekend option (Saturday and Sunday). This position will provide vacation coverage on an intermittent basis.
