Pediatric Locums 1 hour from Greenville, NC

Job description

This medical center located in Northeast NC is seeking a Board Certified Pediatrician to provide locums coverage. The facility is located approximately 1 hour from Greenville, NC.

Coverage needed: January – June 2024 (Please let me know if you can provide any coverage during this time) 

* Hospital covers the cost of travel, lodging and malpractice insurance. 
* Call shifts begin at 8am and end at 8am the following day. Weekends are 8am Friday through Monday at 8am 
* Outpatient (clinic & call)

* Avg # of patient/admissions per day: 20 in the office
* Avg# of admissions/day - one in the hospital
* Avg# inpatient census – 1 baby born per day
* Call: 1 night per week; 1 weekend per month
* Call shared with: pediatrician, NP and FM MD
* Will candidate respond to codes?  No- unless in the nursery
* Required attendance at C-sections when requested by OB provider
* No ICU/Critical Care duties
* No ER backup coverage required
* EMR= EPIC
* Practice Includes: 6 exam rooms and onsite lab services. 1 MD, 1 FNP and 4 Nurses/MAs.
* Required Certification: BLS, PALS and NRP
* Procedures: Onsite Lab, In House Circs, Ear irrigation, Minor Suturing, Covid/Sick Clinic, POC testing for strep, Flu, and RSV,  Routine Well Child Exams and vaccines, Covid Vaccines ages 5-18

25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. It offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 16,000 patients per year.
