Pediatric Surgery Physician needed in SC

Job description

• Coverage needed per month: Weekend call
• Frequency of any Call needed: Friday 7am start – Monday 7am end
• Schedule Details: Need December 31-January 6 urgently, then more into 2025
Work Details:
• Support staff: 1 RN, 2 CMA, 2 front desk staff. Pediatric specialties available for back up include: NICU, Gastro, Critical Care, Hospitalists, Neurosurgery, Urology, and Adult Surgery. Other back up specialties include: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Hematology and Oncology, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Pulmonology. On Fridays, there will be in-town physicians available for questions.
• Department Description: Pediatric surgery unit, includes neonatal surgery and ECMO cannulation. Pediatric Trauma for 14 years and under. Locum will need to be comfortable supervisiing other healthcare providers.
Special Procedures Required: Arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, needle pneumothorax, decompression, x-ray interpretation, suturing
• Special Procedures Preferred: Paracentesis

• Pediatric surgery includes neonatal surgery and ECMO cannulation.
