OB Laborist Position in Washington

Location: Tacoma, WA

Schedule:
• Coverage: 24 Hour On Call
• Start Date: As soon as Credentialed
• Shift Description: Day, Night, Weekend available

Schedule Details:
• Laborist: Flexible options available:
o 24-hour Call (in-house and/or beeper call)
o 12-hour shifts
o Please specify shift preferences

Laborist Shift Coverage Includes:
• Coverage of applicable labor deck, including but not limited to:
o OBED
o OB Emergencies
o Operative delivery consults
o Additional duties applicable to the unit (coverage of MFM, START, etc.)
• Teaching fellows/residents in a hospital setting
• Coverage of applicable MHS Clinic Call (MOGA, EP, etc.)

Submission Requirements:
• Number of deliveries in the last year
• Recent trauma level experience
• Recent case logs (ideally from the last 2 years, will accept the last 1 year)
• Confirmation of recent experience with C-sections, laparoscopy, ectopic tubals, D & C’s

Additional Information:
• When the locum serves as a laborist, they will be working on L&D with the following:
o Physician practice OBGYN covering their patients
o CNM on L&D plus a physician assigned to GYN ED coverage
o Covering anything coming through the OBED and backing up for C-sections for the midwife team
• The OB fellowship program at Tacoma General Hospital may require partnering with a fellow on L&D
• The residency for FP/OB at Good Samaritan Hospital may require working in partnership with these physicians

• Nearest Airport: SeaTac (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport), 30-minute drive to the facility
