Interventional Cardiology

Percentage of time in lab: as much as 75% of their day being in procedure. Will be wearing lead. Will be first-assist. There could be potential to scrub into more complex cases, if they’re interested in more experience. They won’t put them into anything too complex without getting to know them first; they have a dedicated fellow for those more complex cases. Most cases will be diagnostic or minimal intervention.
So far as inpatient involvement, will need to check on patients the next morning, but won’t be discharging from inpatient. Will likely do consents/H&P/inpatient triage (history & physical).
Min # of years' experience: 2 yrs’ experience related to adult cardiothoracic/cardiovascular patient care experience as a PA and/or minimum 1 years of adult ICU experience as a physician assistant in a Cardiothoracic ICU/Coronary Care Unit/Cardiovascular ICU setting.
If APP, will you consider both NPs and PAs? NP & PA
Other staff/support staff: Cardiology fellow (core fellow), interventional fellow (2 in the dept, 1 on any operational lab day).
Avg # of patients/shift: ~4-5 on average, 9 on the high end
Patient population: Adolescent/Adult/Geriatric
