F/T or Part-time Oncologist needed for a Hepatology Research Department.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests
2. Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs, medical history, and available treatment options
3. Monitor patients' progress throughout treatment and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology research and treatment options
6. Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards to discuss complex cases and develop optimal treatment strategies
7. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
1. Proficiency in medical terminology related to oncology
2. In-depth knowledge of various cancer types, staging, and treatment modalities
3. Ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to patients and their families
4. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities
5. Dedication to ongoing research and staying updated on the latest advancements in oncology
Requirements
1. Board certified/board eligible oncologist (required)
2. Texas Medical License
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical oncology (preferred)
4. Experience in hepatobiliary cancer (highly desirable)
Hepatobiliary disease includes a heterogeneous group of diseases of the liver and biliary system caused by viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections, neoplasia, toxic chemicals, alcohol consumption, poor nutrition, metabolic disorders, and cardiac failure.
