Job description

 Work involves direct delivery of clinical practices and monitoring of medical services, participating in treatment team process, advocate for the medical needs of persons service, and working with the individual's families, Family Nurse Practitioners, and with consultants and community medical providers in other medical specialty areas
 This position reports directly to the Administrative Medical Director of the State Supported Living Center and works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
 May be required to return to campus from time to time when on call, mainly weekends.
 Consulting with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns
 Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic disease and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes.
 Prescribe and administering medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
 Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
 Compliance with HHSC and facility documentation timeframe requirements.
•  Provides and monitors facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for compliance with accrediting agencies; specifically, Medicaid Medicare guidelines, CMS Standards, DSSLC Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.
