Things to not about Corrections positions.

Safer than working in a hospital – There are so many rules in place and corrections officers are present.
• Employment is based on budget, not census.
• Try before committing permanently. Potential staff positions. Some nurses like the state benefits and pension plans!
• Good retention rates. Facilities like to extend contracts.
• Opportunity for more overtime than any other setting
• Only need to have 12 months in the past 36 months in any specialty
• Corrections nurses get to use their entire clinical skill set – Intake, Assessments, and Clinical/Medical Infirmary Care. Nurses frequently say, “Working in Corrections reminds me why I went to nursing school. I get to use all my skills.”

  • Correctional Facility Experience a PLUS!
  • 32 hours per week, no weekends
  • W2 - Health Benefits Day 1 - Referral Bonus!!
