Details:
• Full-time, permanent position
• Diagnose and treat HIV infected and uninfected adult patients in ambulatory care settings
• Refer patients to medical or surgical specialists as needed
• Order referrals to nutrition, case management, adherence counseling, and other services
• Administer or order appropriate tests
• Daily review of lab results and requested medication refills
• Assist with disposition of urgent and walk-in visits
• Participate in coverage for other medical providers when needed
• Take and enter detailed clinical notes
• Provide supervision for mid-level providers
• Conduct patient call backs either directly, through an assistant, or through the EMR Patient Portal
• Work closely with Research staff to recruit appropriate candidates for clinical research activities
• Participate in meetings and administrative assignments
• Participate in on-call schedule by phone only, averaging one week for every five to six weeks

Qualifications
• Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• MD or DO degree
• DEA registration
• Valid California medical license
• Within six months, become certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine
• Maintain sufficient Continuing Medical Education units for Board Certification.
