Endocrinology (Diabetes Management Unit) APPs Needed in Los Angeles, CA

Start Date: 10/21/2024
Contract Length: 3 months with possibility to extend
Shift Details: 4x10
Schedule: 7:30-5:30, M-F with occasional weekend coverage (generally 1 shift every 3 weekends)

Work Details:
• Support staff: 2 other APPs on unit, 2 inpatient endocrinology MDs, team of attendings and fellows available as well.
• Amount of coverage needed per month: 4x10 shifts/week
• Patients per day: 18-22 patients per day. Most patients are stable and require minimal care
• Patient population/age: adult, geriatrics
• Department description: Diabetes management/endocrinology department
• Skills required: Provider must be comfortable with inpatient management including: admissions, rounding, presenting critical patients to MD, managing stable patients, checking vitals, taking notes. Insulin management not required – insulin management and insulin pumps will be managed by fellows and attendings.

Requirements:
• Board Certification: Yes, Endocrinology
• State license required: Yes, State of CA
• DEA: Yes, Schedule 2
• Certifications required: BLS
• Minimum experience required: 2 year inpatient experience, strongly prefer providers who have worked in medical diabetes management
Credentialing Timeframe: 90 – 120 Days
