Lead Dermatopathologist - Savannah, GA

Job description

This lead dermatopathologist position will be an exciting opportunity to bring both proven and cutting edge technologies together with anatomic laboratory services in order to provide a higher level of service to our physician partners and clients. Join a thriving dermatology practice with nearly 20 offices across southeast Georgia and South Carolina to launch our laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:
- Assist executive team with the medical aspects of standing up a brand new dermatopathology laboratory in Savannah, Georgia including equipment, staffing, & operations.
- Develop, lead, and manage a team of dermatopathologists to ensure efficient and accurate diagnosis of skin diseases
- Oversee the daily operations of the dermatopathology department
- Provide pathology services to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of human disease
- Produce pathology reports in a timely fashion
- Consult with other pathologists and serve as a consultant as needed
- Comply with all terms and provisions of law, and ethical standards relating to the practice of medicine
- Provide compliance oversite of the department
- Engage in research projects as requested
- Investigate and study the latest research and trends in the developments in pathology practice and techniques
- Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive patient care
- Review and interpret pathology slides to diagnose skin conditions
- Provide consultation and guidance to other healthcare professionals
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in dermatopathology and contribute to research and development efforts

- Customer service skills to provide a positive experience for ordering physicians and their patients
- Proficiency in sales and retail management (desired) to effectively manage the business aspects of the dermatopathology department
