Key Responsibilities:
Units: Work a mix of SICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU.
Patient Care: Manage 10-16 beds per day in an open ICU model, performing consults and providing critical care.
Hospital Bed Capacity: 87 ICU beds.
Support Staff:
Day Shift: Attending physician on staff.
Night Shift: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on duty, with a critical care fellow available 24/7. Additional attendings available for support.
Collaborative Care: Engage in a co-management model with surgical and neuro services.
Skills Required: Proficiency in central lines and arterial lines.
Additional Duties:
Assist with moderate sedation, intubation assistance, complex vent, and sedation management.
Intubation is not required but must be able to recognize when it is needed.
Manage codes in the unit in collaboration with the entire team.
Flexibility to float to other subspecialties based on census (SICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, MICU). Experience in multiple subspecialties is strongly preferred.
Requirements:
Board Certification: ANCC or AACN certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
State License: Active California (CA) license required.
DEA Certification: Required.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENLS (Emergency Neurological Life Support) required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred.
Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days.
