Job description

APPLICANT MUST BE A LICENSED ADDICTION COUNSELOR OR CERTIFIED ADDICTION COUNSELOR IN THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
Work duties include performing substance use assessments, facilitating group counseling, Moral Recognition Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse, and individual counseling in an outpatient setting. Training in Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBISA) and Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) is preferred although training can be provided in these areas. Experience and knowledge are preferred in the12 Core Functions of SA Counseling; Individual and group counseling skills; knowledge of potential referral sources; understanding of co-occurring disorders. If there is no experience, the agency will train in these areas. Must have computer skills and the ability to write clearly with attention to detail and be able to plan, prioritize and organize work. Must have the ability to relate to others with compassion, respect, and empathy to include staff, clients, and referral sources. Certified or Licensed as Addiction Counselor (trainee status can be obtainable through the agency). No experience required. We will train and work with the right Candidate. MAIN FUNCTION: Delivers quality treatment services to individuals, and their families who are challenged by addiction and co-occurring disorders.
