Do you love providing compassionate care to children/adolescents? YMCA TIDES is in need of a Psychiatrist for our program. The successful candidate will love working with children/youth and have extensive experience communicating with youth and their families. We are looking for a highly professional Psychiatrist who is comfortable reassuring parents, communicating with other team members, and tending to the needs of the children/youth. Program Description:
TIDES is a Medi-Cal funded Full-Service Partnership, EPSDT (Early Prevention, Diagnostics, and Treatment) program that offers support to youth and transition-age youth (TAY) and their families by providing a variety of counseling services.
We serve students and community members (ages 5-21), and their families, who are struggling with emotional or behavioral problems. TIDES therapists work closely with school personnel and community agencies to enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic services. Additional services include:
• Crisis Intervention
• Medication Evaluation
• Medication Monitoring

Responsibilities:
• Available for on-site consultation/medication management for 4 hours per week.
• Helps clients by evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions.
• Assists in the development of treatment plans by determining the nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders.
• Evaluates clients by interviewing child/youth, family, observes behaviors when needed; reviews medical history and related documents; selects, administers, and interprets psychological tests; orders laboratory tests and evaluates results.
• Uses County of San Diego Behavioral Health Electronic Health Records System (Cerner)
• Treats clients by utilizing prescription of psychotropic medications as needed; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medication
