About the clinician's workday

The available shifts include 8, 10, 12, and 16-hour options, with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM or 24-hour shifts. The case mix includes general surgery, endoscopy, and orthopedics, with responsibilities alternating between supervision and performing own cases. While overtime is possible, it is not expected. The facility has seven operating rooms, two obstetric rooms, and two endoscopy rooms, all utilizing paper charting. Responsibilities include pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with patients, managing the induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring patients' physiological conditions, and performing clinical interventions as needed. Requirements for the position include a current license, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program, and certification or recertification by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
