This GI hospitalist role involves managing approximately 15 cases daily, along with an additional 20 surgical pathology cases, mostly biopsies, from other sites. The types of biopsies include GI, GYN, skin, and bladder. No other pathologists or support staff are on-site, though consultations are available with Nashville pathologists. Procedures include minimal grossing and approximately one frozen section per week, primarily for thyroid, parathyroid, and skin margins. The position requires independently preparing, cutting, and staining frozen sections. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with 24/7 call, including rare phone calls and in-house requirements.
