Can wait for excellent Sign up or sign in for contact information Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA) is in the village of Tamuning which is central for the island, serving Guam’s indigent and local population of approximately 175,000.. GMHA is Guam’s Government hospital; two other hospital on-island, Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC; private) and the United States Naval Regional Medical Center (USNRMC, commonly referred to as Naval Hospital) for the active-duty and retired military service members and their families. GMHA has 161 hospital and 40 skilled nursing unit beds. We have a pathologist/medical director on staff until January 2025 or when a full-time pathologist is placed. There are 40 essential staff working 3 shifts; each shift has a supervisor who is a licensed technologist. Interventional Radiology is available and on site.
The lab has a donor center, blood bank, histology, EIA rooms. Histology is doing about 15-18 biopsies/day. There is a full service pathology lab. Frozen sections are limited to 5-10/month. Histology is available regular Mon-Fri, with the exception of observed holidays; closed on weekends.
Autopsies are not performed/offered. Autopsies can be requested through the Chief medical examiner on the same campus as GMHA.
