About the clinician's workday
The hospital-based practice requires coverage for a busy practice with one provider needing time off, for one week per month. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM with weekend/night call on a 1:2 ratio. Responsibilities include handling approximately 40 surgical/cytology cases per day, managing the clinical lab and blood bank, and reviewing peripheral blood smears. The locum physician will not be responsible for grossing specimens or cutting frozen sections but will supervise other healthcare providers. The team consists of 1.5 physicians, 4 histotechnologists, 1 pathology assistant, and 2 cytotechnologists. The EMR system used is CoPath, and the estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days.
