While in Boston, Massachusetts, you have the opportunity to see one of the most historic cities in the United States. In between all the tours and famous sites, take a trip to Fenway Park or get some seafood at any of the downtown spots like the Union Oyster House that is one of the oldest restaurants still in operation today in the United States.

About the clinician's workday

The clinician will be seeing male patients in a public sector forensic hospital population, state-funded with no managed care, where major mental illness, substance use, and character pathology comorbidities are common. Patients typically stay a minimum of 20 days, many being long-term commitments. The caseload is approximately 28 patients, with a mixture of weekly and monthly clinical contact. Some patients, typically less well-controlled, need to be seen more frequently, while others, well-controlled, are seen weekly or monthly. Patients must be seen weekly during the first 8 weeks after admission and monthly thereafter. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week, with work hours loosely from 9-5 and flexible/self-scheduled within reasonable limits.
