SPECIALTY: SURGERY – CRITICAL CARE/TRAUMA
LOCATION: MICHIGAN
JOB TYPE: LOCUM TENENS
JOB NUMBER: 47405

• Seeking a Locum to Perm candidate.
• Dates: August ongoing – 6 shifts per month (days & nights) minimum
• No 24-hour call/Shift Only: 8a-5p/5p-8a.
• Setting: Hospital Trauma Surgical Care Open ICU
o 12 Beds Level II Adult Center (ACS verified)
• Outpatient: Trauma Clinic (same site) 2-4 hours every Thursday
• Procedures Required/Preferred: full scope of trauma and emergency general surgery.
• Daily Responsibilities:

o Respond to trauma activations/consultations in the ED.
o Managing Surgery ICU patients.
o Managing admitted injured patient at all levels of care.
o Daily ICU rounds Respond to difficult airway calls.
o Rounding on patients admitted to the trauma service at all levels of care.
o Rounding on acute care surgery patients Isolated hip fractures under 65 years of age admitted to the hospitalist medicine service w/ ortho consultation.

Census:
• Approximately 2200 patients visited the ED for possible or actual injury in 2023.
• 1167 patients were admitted, discharged, expired, or transferred in 2023.
• 0-4 activations per day (including trauma consults) daily census for trauma service ranges from 8-25 patients.

REQUIRED:
• MI state license; active, unrestricted. – REQUIRED, or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission).
• Double Board Certified – General Surgery & Critical Care
• DEA, BLS & ACLS.
• Credentialing: No temp privileges granted. 90-120 days.
