Pediatric physician needed in PA!

Job description

• Support staff: No APP/Mid-level coverage. Other specialties available onsite: Limited for peds specific - ENT, Ophthalmology, dental, behavioral health, OBGYN, gen surg, wound, gastro. (hospitalists admit ages18+)
• Coverage Type: Clinic and call
Work Details:
• Facility Type: Two very busy hospital-owned established practice sites – one pediatric group: One located on Cole Memorial’s main hospital campus and the other in our Port Allegany Health Center
• Practice Setting: Practice is 90% outpatient. No NICU, instituted telemedicine for Neonatology on the floors with Children’s in Pitts. Higher level care PEDS transferred (sick babies transferred to Pittsburgh, Geisinger, Buffalo or Dubois)
• EMR/Charting Software: epic
• Avg. Daily Census: Typically 0 admissions while on call. It is very rarely that they admit peds. Usually, this is in the winter for respiratory illness, rehydration, etc. Minimum Workload is expected to be 350-400 per month (15-18 patients/day). Weekend Call: Mostly by phone (not often coming in at night); Expect to have to go in to ER or nursery once a week for an emergency or admission, but it might not happen (or rarely could happen more often); Generally, round in hospital in AM, and then go to clinic; On call Pediatrician must admit patients both day and night. Level I nursery | 230-250 births/year.

• Patient Age Group: peds
• Procedures: daily rounding for the nursery, when on call
• In-House Rounding: (all patients, both practices), usually 1-2 babies in nursery. Rarely have an inpatient, rounding on sick children
• Can split time between two sites- Coudersport and Port Allegany (20 mins. from hospital) Schedule can be discussed and may change from time to time. OBs doing circumcisions.
