We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Vascular Surgery team. This position involves a mix of hospital-based care and outpatient clinic work, with a primary focus on first assist (FA) in the OR and initial transition to inpatient care. The role includes 24-hour call shifts, and additional call-back hours are expected as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in vascular surgery or a related field, as well as proficiency in EPIC EMR.

Duration: 6 months (Extension approvals required every 6 months)
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 3.0
Shift: 24-hour call, 7 AM to 7 AM
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient
Patient Demographics: Adults
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide first assist in the OR for both emergent and scheduled vascular surgery cases.
-Transition patients to the floor post-OR, with inpatient rounding and patient management handled by employed APCs.
-Provide 24-hour call coverage, with up to 40 hours of call-back required per week.
-Clinic work, including seeing patients one day per week, will be managed by employed APCs.
-Participate in rounding, consults, and emergency surgery as needed, collaborating with the on-call vascular surgeon for urgent cases.
-Maintain a running tally of first assist and rounding activities, to be shared with the Vascular Surgery Clinic each business day.
Call Requirements:
Weekdays: 8-hour call coverage for first assist and overnight emergency surgery; any additional call-back hours will be compensated at the non-call back rate.
Weekends: 4 hours of coverage for rounding and emergency surgery, with additional call-back hours exceeding 6 hours per weekend day requiring notification to Vascular Surgery Leadership.
Credentialing:
-Standard Privileges: 1.5 years
-Temporary Privileges: 120 days
-Standard Credentialing: 90 days
-Expedited Credentialing Process (with MSO approval): ~30 days (Clean pre-application and state license ready).
Required Qualifications:
-Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
-Active state licensure.
-Other certifications required by the Medical Services Organization
