Job description
Health System: Queen’s Health Systems
Assignment Details
Start Date: December 2025
Duration: 3–6+ months (ongoing until 2 full-time urologists are hired)
Coverage Needed:
3–4 weeks of call coverage per month
2–4 hours of clinic coverage, 1 day per week
Call: 24/7, ~15-minute response time
Worksites:
Primary: Main campus – Manamana/Punchbowl
Secondary: Possible coverage for West campus
Clinic Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Clinic Volume: ~25 patients/day
On-Call Volume: ~2 patients/day weekdays; ~4 patients/day weekends
Inpatient Coverage: As needed (consults, ED admissions)
Locums Staffing: Minimum of 2 locums to provide full coverage and cross-coverage
Procedures & Cases
Types of Cases: Adult urology only
Procedures Required: General urology + office procedures (see below)
Surgery:
Primarily clinic patients and consults
Some in-office procedures
DaVinci robot available in OR (open block time available), but not used in clinic
Office Procedures:
Stent removal
Catheter removal/exchange
Dilations
Bladder ultrasound
Testosterone replacement therapy
Scrotal/penile lesion excisions
Cryotherapy of penile and scrotal lesions
Common Diagnoses:
Low testosterone / hypogonadism
Urinary issues: nocturia, incontinence, frequency, urgency, dysuria
UTIs, hematuria, pyuria, bladder wall thickening
Overactive bladder, BPH
Infertility / sterilization counseling
Renal cysts, hydrocele, spermatocele
Epididymitis, orchitis, testicular pain
Peyronie’s disease / penile curvature
Erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain
Kidney stones, staghorn
Renal, bladder, or adrenal masses
Elevated PSA, enlarged prostate
Support
IR support available on weekdays
No robotics in clinic (robotics available in OR)
Other urologists not specified (locum will work as part of restructured program)
