Urology Opportunity in Northern California

Job description

Adventist Health Sonora is seeking a Board-Certified Urologist to provide locum tenens coverage from October 12, 2026, through April 30, 2027. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic, surgical procedures, and call coverage, serving a well-established community hospital in California's Sierra Foothills.

Opportunity Highlights:

Location: Sonora, CA
Facility: 152-bed nonprofit community hospital
Coverage Needed: Minimum of 10 days per month
Assignment Dates: 10/12/2026 – 04/30/2027
Practice Type: Bread-and-butter Urology
CA medical license required
Board Certification required

Practice Setting:

Outpatient clinic and surgical/procedural coverage
Clinic volume: 8-10 patients per day
Surgical volume: 4-6 procedures per day
Shared responsibilities include weeknight call and weekend ED backup call
Providers must remain available and responsive during call coverage periods

Schedule:

Clinic: 2-3 days per week, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Surgery/Procedures: 1-2 days per week, typically 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Some assignments include 24-hour call coverage, with clinic duties during the day and overnight call responsibilities from 4:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Occasional 24-hour weekend ED backup call
Includes 3 gratis hours

Credentialing:

Estimated timeframe: 60-90 days
Temporary privileges may be available on a case-by-case basis
