Locum Tenens Physician – OB Hospitalist

Position Type: Locum Tenens

Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: 12-hour day/night shifts or 24-hour shifts (7A–7P, 7P–7A, or 7A–7A)
Start Date: ASAP (as soon as credentialed)
End Date: Ongoing sporadic coverage

Position Details:

Patient Population: Obstetric patients, including high-risk pregnancies and Level III NICU newborns

Setting: Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit

Responsibilities:

Provide 24-hour OB Hospitalist/Laborist coverage
Manage labor and deliveries
Perform emergent C-sections
Monitor fetal heart tracings
Respond to obstetric emergencies

Required Procedures:

Vaginal deliveries
Cesarean sections
Emergency obstetric procedures
Fetal heart monitoring interpretation

EMR System: Cerner PowerChart (transitioned to Epic)

Support Staff: Labor and Delivery nursing team, NICU staff, and onsite specialists

Days Per Month: Sporadic coverage with at least one weekend per month

On-Call/Weekends: Yes – weekend coverage required as part of the schedule

Submission Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency)
Active Indiana license
NRP and PALS certifications
NCC Certification in Fetal Heart Monitoring
NPDB Self-Query within 30 days
Clean malpractice and background history preferred

• Temporary privileges available with credentialing in 60–90 days
