Job description

A hospital in the Newton, MA area is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a General Cardiology locum tenens opportunity covering medical leave starting October 1.

Position Details:
- Specialty: Nurse Practitioner - General Cardiology (Inpatient only)
- Coverage Type: Hospital, inpatient only
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4x10s, 8:00am-6:30pm
- Practice Setting: Hospital
- EMR: Epic
- Patient Age Group: Adult
- Reason for Coverage: Medical leave (starting October 1)
- Staffing model: 2-3 APPs working with 1 attending physician
- Locum responsibilities: New consults and follow-ups for hospitalist team
- No procedures
- No dedicated cardiac unit; mix of patient care and care coordination
- No call required

Requirements:
- Board Certification required
- Massachusetts (MA) state license required (facility not willing to license)
- DEA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- 2 references required prior to acceptance
- May involve 1-2 phone interviews

Travel: Open to flight, lodging, rental car.
Compensation Notes: OT rate same as regular rate; holiday rate is 1.4x.

Credentialing Timeframe: Standard 3-6 months (currently targeting ~180 days).
