NP Cardiology – Locum Tenens – Newton, MA

Job description

A well-established hospital in the greater Boston, MA area (Newton) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for an inpatient General Cardiology locum tenens assignment. The role provides coverage for a medical leave starting October 1.

Schedule & Setting: Hospital-based, Monday–Friday, 4 x 10-hour shifts, 8:00a–6:30p. No call. EMR: Epic. The cardiology consult service is for the hospitalist team; there is no dedicated cardiac unit. Patient population is adult.

Responsibilities: New consults and follow-ups – no procedures. The coverage team typically includes 2–3 APPs with 1 attending physician. The role is a mix of patient care and care coordination.

Requirements: MA license, board certification, DEA, and a minimum of 1 year of experience required. OT rate is same as regular; holiday is 1.4x. Travel: flight, lodging, and rental car provided. Standard credentialing timeframe is 3–6 months (targeting ~180 days).
