Position Overview
Seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner for ongoing night shift inpatient coverage supporting a collaborative cardiovascular team. This role focuses on general cardiology floor coverage with no ICU responsibilities.

Assignment Details

Start Date: ASAP
Ongoing coverage need
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Night shifts only
Coverage Type: Scheduled inpatient coverage

Practice Setting

Inpatient cardiology service
General cardiology floor and step-down patients
Non-ICU coverage
EMR: Cerner

Clinical Responsibilities

Daily rounding on cardiology patients admitted to or consulted on the general cardiology service
Complete admission H&Ps, consult notes, progress notes, event notes, and discharge summaries
Order medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures as appropriate
Collaborate with attending cardiologists on new consults
Perform procedures when indicated, including:
Arterial line placement
Central line placement
Cardioversion

Support Structure

Hospitalist Medicine and Cardiology teams provide ongoing support
Pulmonary Critical Care and CV Surgery available as needed

Requirements

Active North Carolina license required at presentation
Active North Carolina DEA required at presentation
Cardiology inpatient experience preferred
Comfortable managing floor and step-down cardiology patients independently
