Psychiatrist Needed for Inpatient and Consultation-Liaison Coverage at Newport Hospital

Pertinent Facility Information: Hospital in Newport (90 bed hospital: about 50 med/surg beds. Community hospital. Non-teaching)
Reason for coverage: Provider vacancy
Coverage Dates: Asap – 6 months
Shift Schedule: M-F 8a-5p
Call Schedule: Weekend Call every 5 weekends (optional)
Types of Patients: Inpatient PSYCH and CL; the unit caters to general adult patients aged 18 and above, including geriatric patients who are relatively independent. Mix of anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance-induced psychosis
Patients per day/Volume: 12 pt cap (8 unit, max 4 consults)
Certifications/Qualifications Required (to include specific boards): Psychiatry, Consultation Liaison training preferred
Support Staff: NP on inpatient, SW on inpatient
Average length of stay: 7 days inpatient
# of Admits/Discharges per day: average 2-3 inpatient discharges/admissions on a 15 bed unit per day
Inpatient or Outpatient: Inpatient, C/L, ER coverage; Shared responsibility with inpatient (15 beds total – unit is split and NPs are involved).
Board Eligible or Board Certified: either
EMR: Epic
Credentialing Timeframe: 3-4 months
Will license while credentialing (Y/N): Yes, but prefers candidate with active RI license
Housing/Travel Accommodations: full travel provided
