Behavioral Health/Psychiatry Locum Need in Pennsylvania

Work Details:

Start Date: 07/01/2024

Contract Length: 13 weeks, with option to extend

Coverage Type: Schedule + On Call required

Shifts & Hours: 5 8-hour shifts per week; 14 shifts per month

Schedule Details: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM, plus night and weekend call; 14 shifts per month, preferably 14 days on and 14 days off. Will consider 7 days on and 7 days off.

Support Staff: RN, seasoned BH RN, NP (may not work the same days as the physician)
Coverage Needed: 14 days per month

Patients per Day: Average daily census can reach 20, typically around 17. ALOS is 5-7 days; up to 10 admissions and discharges per week

Patient Population/Age: Adult

Department Description: Inpatient Psychiatry

EMR: CPSI

Hospital Bed Size: The Inpatient unit has 24 adult beds, with plans to expand to 29 once staffing permits
Skills Required: Initial psychiatric evaluations, daily rounding, possible psych evaluations on the medical floor, psych evaluations in the ED

Practice Setting: Hospital – Inpatient Psych Unit

Requirements:

Board Certification: Yes, Adult Psychiatry
State License: Yes, State of PA
DEA: Yes
CSR: No
Certifications Required: BLS
Minimum Experience: 1 year in an inpatient setting
Credentialing Timeframe: Temps can be granted in 3 weeks for clean files
