Facility:
This medical center provides comprehensive healthcare services to the local community with a focus on maternal and pediatric care. The facility features a Level I Nursery with 6 beds and handles 700-800 births per year, providing essential newborn care services to families in the region.

Opportunity:
Physician - Pediatrics

Job Details:
• Provide coverage for local pediatrics practice focusing exclusively on newborn care
• Handle births only with no ER or OR call back requirements
• Manage Level I Nursery with average of 2 newborns per day
• Stabilize infants requiring higher level of care until transfer (no NICU on-site)
• Work typically one weekend per month with some holidays, schedule varies monthly
• 24-hour pager call shifts from 0700 to 0700
• Handle 0-5 patient encounters per shift with infrequent admissions
• Perform comprehensive newborn care including ventilation management and intubation
• Conduct procedures including central lines, arterial lines, UVC, UAC, and lumbar punctures
• Manage conscious and deep sedation as needed
• Perform chest tube insertion, needle pneumothorax decompression, and minor suturing
• Interpret X-rays and EKGs
• Handle circumcisions, exchange transfusions, and swallow studies
• Must be licensed in Alabama or hold IMLC
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Board certification eligible accepted
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 45 days

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
