At Rocky Hill Pediatrics, job duties include but are not limited to:
Seeing patients for well and sick visits as the schedule determines - generally 3 well visits per hour or 4 acute / sick visits per hour. Expectations include obtaining an appropriate medical history, reviewing medication and problem lists, obtaining past medical and surgical histories, performing physical exams, formulating assessments, and developing treatment plans all with access to a supervising board-certified pediatrician on-site at all times.
Appropriately documenting all patient encounters in our electronic medical record in a timely manner.
Ordering and interpreting common laboratory and diagnostic tests as needed to safely and effectively treat patients; prescribing medications dosed accurately by weight; and ordering and administering immunizations, and in-office medications.
Assisting with telephone triage as needed.
Reviewing laboratory / diagnostic results and consult notes, then calling patients when appropriate to review results and discuss a follow-up plan.
Participating in quality improvement (QI) projects as determined by the practice and participating in continuous medical education. Typical activities include self-directed reading, attending after-hours learning communities (or teaching sessions) and other CME activities of your choice. We work together to appropriately change our practice and adopt new quality guidelines in order to provide exceptional pediatric care.
Providing appropriate coding and billing based on services rendered and in accordance with current coding guidelines.
Providing anticipatory guidance based on guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Creating management plans for chronic diseases including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, constipation, asthma, learning disorders / educational concerns, behavior concerns, and sleep issues.
Maintaining required certifications including active / unrestricted RN and APRN licenses, and DEA and Connect
