• Location: San Francisco, CA
• Target Start: May
• Length of commitment: 6 months with the option to extend
• Shift Details: 5x8 Monday – Friday
• Schedule: 8a-5p
• Support staff: techs, ophthalmologists, optometrists
• Amount of coverage needed per month: full time, 5 shifts/week
• Patients per day: 12-14 patients per day
• Patient population/age: mostly all pediatrics, do see some adults with developmental delays and double vision. Seeing the adult patients is not required
• Department description: bread and butter + high acuity peds optometry patients, facility has all imaging devices needed, techs are there to run diagnostic imaging. Optometrists are responsible for works ups and patient care. Department sees patients of all cognitive abilities, with a lot of patients on the spectrum. A lot of patients that are co-managed by other peds specialties at the facility like those with seizures and facial abnormalities.
• EMR: epic
• Special procedures: contact lens fitting and/or complex contact lens fitting for peds
• Skills required: complex pediatric populations, strabismus/binocular vision exams
• Practice Setting: Required: Board Certified OD, Active CA license, BLS, peds residency or + 3 years of peds experience
• Malpractice covered; local candidates will be interviewed first
