Pediatric Ophthalmology
Work Details:
• Support staff: MAs, COA/COT in clinic
• Amount of coverage needed per month: full time
• Patients per day: variable
• Patient population/age: pediatrics
• Department description: level 1 trauma center, seeing both trauma cases/call as well as bread and butter pediatric opthalmology
• EMR: epic
• Hospital bed size: 191
• Special procedures: Strabismus, pediatric cataract, ROP screening (ROP TBD)
• Skills required:
• Must have Graduated from ACGME approved Ophthalmology residency. In training or completed a Pediatric Ophthalmology fellowship
• Proficient in strabismus surgeries. Common Call Cases: Trauma (orbital fractures, eyelid lacerations ruptured globes), infections (orbital cellulitis, neonatal conjunctivitis), neurosurgery cases to check for papilledema, Non-accidental trauma consults, oncology consults, part of metabolic w/u consults

• Inpatient
• Hospital
Requirements:
• Board Certification: Yes
• License required: yes, wiling to license to CA
• DEA: yes with schedule 2
• Certifications required:
• Minimum experience required: 1 year experience in pediatric ophthalmology, level 1 trauma experience preferred, trauma experience required.
