ASSIGNMENT DETAILS: JO# 2688219
• Location: Oakland, CA
• Target Start: January 2025
• Length of commitment: 3-6 months with the option to extend
• Schedule: Monday – Friday (8am-5pm) Clinic + evening and weekend call
• Support staff: MAs, COA/COT in clinic
• Amount of coverage needed per month: full time
• Patients per day: variable
• Patient population/age: pediatrics
• Department description: level 1 trauma center, seeing both trauma cases/call as well as bread and butter pediatric ophthalmology
• EMR: epic
• Hospital bed size: 191
• Special procedures: Strabismus, pediatric cataract, ROP screening (ROP TBD)
• Skills required: Proficient in strabismus surgeries.
• Common Call Cases: Trauma (orbital fractures, eyelid lacerations ruptured globes), infections (orbital cellulitis, neonatal conjunctivitis), neurosurgery cases to check for papilledema, Non-accidental trauma consults, oncology consults, part of metabolic w/u consults
• Requirements: Board Certified, Active CA License, DEA, 1 year trauma experience
