Pediatric Gastroenterology
Specialty: Peds GI Physician
BC/BE: Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist
Daily rate includes 10 hours of work on-site Monday 7a – Monday 7a.
Dates needed: ASAP upon credentialing
Schedule: 2 weeks/month. Preferably 2 consecutive weeks
Inpatient coverage. Mon-Mon rotations. Doing rounds in person once a day. Will not be limited by clinic hours/doing clinic hours. Inpatient makes this more flexible to call their own hours on rounding. Doing procedures on inpatients.
Call: 24/7 call for those 2 weeks. Could be every other or 2 weeks/row. Would involve coming in in middle of night for internal bleeding or foreign body removal (most). Call backs happen about 1x/month for emergencies. South of clavicle is managed by Peds GI (north of, handled by ENT). Telemedicine consults for Rush Copley. Call backs happen about 1x/month for emergencies. 1-2 calls/night on average for the Locums to take from the hospital/ER.
Patients per day: Between 3-6 patients seen during rounds. Very rarely up to 10.
Inpatient, new consults. Follow up visits in the hospital. Calls from referring hospitals/ERs. Making arrangements for transfers into the hospital.
Any specific items needed: Must be skilled at all peds GI procedures. GI Bleeding, foreign body retrieval, colonoscopy, PEGs, etc
EMR: Epic
Credentialing timeframe: 90-120 days.
