A reputable facility in California is seeking ENT (Otolaryngology) coverage beginning in early 2026. This position offers 24-hour beeper call-only coverage with a flexible schedule—ideal for physicians seeking ongoing locum work in a lower-volume, non-trauma setting. The facility is looking for providers who can offer consistent coverage, such as 7-on/7-off, set weekdays, or every/other weekend rotations.

Assignment Details

Call Coverage: 24-hour beeper call (no in-house requirement)

Call Response Time: 30 minutes

Volume: Low call-back frequency (not a high-volume ENT service)

Average Consults per Shift: ~3

Orientation: Brief Epic training and quick shadow shift

EMR: Epic

Credentialing Timeframe: ~3 months

Clinical Scope

Bread and Butter ENT – typical cases include:

Foreign body removal

Epistaxis control (bleeding)

Tracheostomy and post-op management

Abscess drainage

Nasal fracture evaluation (no major trauma)

Non-emergent consults for trachs and post-op complications

Patient Population: Primarily teens and adults; occasional pediatric cases (<13) for foreign bodies only.
Rounding: Only on patients seen during your on-call shift.

Requirements

Board Certification: Otolaryngology (ENT)
