Orthopedic Trauma Surgery
Schedule: (Must be able to cover all 4 weeks)
*July 11 (begin at 5p), 12, 13, until 0700 7/14
*July 25 (begin at 5p), 26, 27, until 0700 7/28
*September 5(begin at 5p), 6, 7, until 0700 9/8
*November 7 (begin at 5p), 8, 9, until 0700 11/10
Work Details:
· Hospital bed size: 378
· Support staff: Will work with 3 other ortho trauma fellowship trained surgeons.
· Patients per day: tbd
· Patient population/age: Average case load per block is 3-5 cases during the summer, with all types of ortho trauma cases (upper extremity, lower extremity, periarticular fractures, pelvic/acetabular fractures)
·EMR: EPIC
· Skills required: Must have experience taking call in a trauma center. Also, must have experience treating periarticular fractures and pelvis/acetabulum fractures. All types of ortho trauma cases (upper extremity, lower extremity) Cases They Will NOT do: Joint replacements, sports injuries (ACL/RC tears), diabetic foot (those go to foot/ankle) and hand/wrist (those go to hand surgery)
Requirements:
· Board Certification: American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS)
· License required: open to licensing
· DEA: yes
· CSR: yes
· Certifications required: tbd
· Minimum experience required: 1 year. **Trauma Fellowship required**
Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
Travel: facility reimburses flights, rental car, and lodging for FT locums
