Orthopedic Physician Assistant Locum Opportunity

Job description

A hospital in MA is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage starting in June. Active NV license is preferred or IMLC. Please see a few details below:

· 3+ month contract with option to extend
· June start
· Fulltime need
· REQUIRED: 3 to 5 years of orthopedic experience to include inpatient / outpatient care and surgical assistance
· Summary of role: Assists in surgery and provides surgical care to patients. Surgical care may include performing complete histories and physical exams, performing or ordering simple diagnostic tests, prepare a diagnosis and implement treatment procedures for illnesses as well as emergency cases, developing a working diagnosis to provide continuing medical care including daily exams, writing orders, chart notes and discharge summaries.
· Procedures: insert peripheral IV lines · perform venous punctures for specific lab tests · insert arterial lines · administer blood products · mix and/or administer IV medications · read radiographs · perform suturing as needed.
