Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon – Locum Tenens

Job description

A leading regional trauma center in Idaho is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join their team on a locum tenens basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a fellowship-trained professional looking to manage high-acuity trauma cases in a collaborative and well-supported environment.

Opportunity Details:
• Schedule: Weekend call blocks (Friday evening through Monday morning), scheduled on:
o July 11–14
o July 25–28
o September 5–8
o November 7–10

• Coverage Type: 24-hour call with designated surgical time blocks on weekends

• Call Coverage Includes: Friday: 5:00 PM – Monday: Until 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive orthopedic trauma care, including management of:
o Pelvic and acetabular fractures
o Periarticular fractures
o Upper and lower extremity injuries
• Collaborate with a trauma-trained surgical team of three additional fellowship-trained surgeons
• Participate in an acute care surgery model with access to full support staff

• EMR: Epic
• Hospital Size: 378 beds
• Support: Work alongside experienced trauma-trained orthopedic surgeons and a robust OR support team
• Case Load: Average 3–5 trauma surgeries per weekend; excludes joint replacements, sports injuries, diabetic foot, and hand/wrist procedures
