Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Alabama Surgical Arts, a private oral and maxillofacial surgery office located in Montgomery, AL is seeking a part time contracted CRNA- 2 and a half days a week- with flexibility to increase. Cases are a mix of open airway sedations and intubated cases in an ASC working with two OMS’s doing oral surgery and facial cosmetic surgery.
Preferably provider would have their own LLC with a back up provider for coverage if not available, vacation time wanted, or more coverage is sporadically needed in the future. Open to other arrangements, days or hours.
The CRNA works collaboratively with oral surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort during and after surgical procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pre-Operative Evaluation:
Conducts comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests.
Obtains informed consent from patients regarding anesthesia risks and benefits.
Develops individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
Anesthesia Administration:
Administers a variety of anesthesia techniques, including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC).
Monitors vital signs and administers medications to maintain patient safety and comfort during surgery.
Adjusts anesthesia as needed to respond to changing patient conditions.
Intra-Operative Monitoring:
Continuously monitors patient vital signs and physiological parameters using advanced monitoring equipment.
Identifies and responds to potential complications promptly.
Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical experience.
Post-Operative Care:
Monitors patients in the recovery room until they are stable for discharge.
Provides pain management strategies and educates patients on post-operative care instructions.
Documents all aspects of patient care, including pre-operative evaluation, anesthesia administration, intra-operative monitoring, and post-operative care.
Quality Improvement:
Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
Stays current with the latest advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Valid state license to practice as a CRNA.
Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of anesthesia techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.
Additional Requirements:
May require additional certifications or training in specific areas of anesthesia practice, such as pediatric anesthesia or advanced airway management.
