This regional medical center serves as a vital healthcare resource for the surrounding community, providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services. The facility features 3 labor rooms and 14 postpartum beds, averaging 27 deliveries monthly, with robust support including 24/7 on-call Anesthesiology and Radiology services, as well as dedicated hospitalist support staff. Hospital apartments adjacent to the facility are provided for provider housing.

Physician - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Job Details:

  • Locum Tenens coverage needed for 24-hour call shifts across multiple date ranges in October and November
  • Round on patients and remain on-call for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries
  • Available for any emergent gynecological procedures as needed
  • High-risk deliveries will be emergent only; high-risk transfers coordinated to nearby facilities approximately 30-45 minutes away
  • Level 1 nursery on site; average census of 1-3 deliveries per 24-hour period
  • Must have an active NC license and NC DEA with NC address
  • Must be currently enrolled with PECOS as a provider and hold NC Medicaid credentials
  • Board Certified required; must be fully vaccinated
  • Must be actively delivering babies; case logs from the last 24 months from a hospital are required at submission
  • No recent or open malpractice cases; details required in submission
  • Provider must be within 20 minutes of the facility per hospital bylaws
  • Required skills include low-risk pregnancy management, routine and complicated deliveries including vaginal, C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
  • Low forceps delivery and decision-making for C-sections required
  • Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations required
  • OB ultrasounds (performance and interpretation) required; Level I and Level II preferred
  • FHR interpretation including NST/CST/FSE preferred
  • Office and minor gynecology procedures required, including IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP
  • Surgical gynecology required, including open, laparoscopic, and operative/major procedures
  • Laser certification required
  • Credentialing timeframe approximately 14 days

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
