This health system operates an established inpatient OB/GYN practice comprising 27 physicians and 9 Advanced Practice Providers delivering comprehensive women's health services in North Carolina. The facility maintains NICU support and is structured to support continuous inpatient obstetric and gynecologic coverage across shifts. Clinical operations are conducted on-site with an average inpatient census of 50 and an average of 10 admissions per day.

About the clinician's workday

Clinicians will provide inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist coverage through 24-hour shifts, with 11 shifts per month scheduled across days, nights, and weekends. Clinical responsibilities include labor and delivery care, ED consults, GYN service, and emergent gynecologic surgeries, with required procedures encompassing cesarean delivery, D&C (obstetric and gynecologic), diagnostic and operative laparoscopy, and urgent or emergent gynecologic cases. Call is shared with other OB/GYN generalists within the department and a Certified Nurse Midwife, with locum clinicians serving as backup to the ED for consult coverage. Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and BLS certification are required for this assignment.
