Location Description - In this Central PA region you'll find covered bridges, tree-sheltered streams and little Victorian towns. This is the home of The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), their Nittany Lions, and most importantly, the Berkey Creamery. Just try to find a fresher scoop of ice cream anywhere else. We double dare you. Use the Trails Mix path of the Fantastic Roadtrip-a-Matic to make your way through the Alleghenies trails and parks. The Horseshoe Curve is one of PA's engineering marvels. Take the funicular to the top of the hill and get a great view of the trains whizzing by. And while we're on the topic of good views, we recommend stopping at the Johnstown Incline, the steepest in the world. It'll give you a great view of the city below. You'll also learn about the infamous Johnstown Flood at the Johnstown Flood National Memorial. Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center is a great place to catch a play or concert. And for a different kind of classiness, make a stop at Bellefonte. There you'll find over 400 buildings and houses in unique Victorian styles including Italiante, Romanesque, and Queen Anne. Raystown Lake is a cool spot to go for a dip. They have campgrounds, picnic areas, and more than 8,000 acres of lakes to keep you cool and entertained. From Tussey Mountain down to the depths of Seldom Seen Valley Tourist Coal Mine, adventure in the Alleghenies lurks at every turn. Whether it's an ATV ride through Rock Run ATV Park or hiking through Shawnee Park, you'll find a way to get your hands dirty.
