Position Overview
The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Physician Specialist Option B for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois to provide comprehensive medical care and treatment of disorders relating to internal medicine facility- wide. Provides diagnostic and treatment services. Provides facility-wide consultation in internal medicine to medical staff. Provides in-service training to other staff. Serves as an intermediary and advocate for patients during community-based consultations, treatment, and outpatient care.
Essential Functions
• Provides comprehensive medical care and treatment of disorders relating to internal medicine facility- wide.
• Makes daily rounds evaluating patients' progress and treatment.
• Serves as an intermediary and advocate for patients during community-based consultations, treatment and outpatient care.
• Serves as Physician on Call.
• Provides consultation in internal medicine to other medical and direct care staff.
• Serves as an active member on committees.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
