A facility is seeking an internal medicine physician for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located 20 minutes from downtown Tuscon, Arizona.

About the clinician's workday

The practice consists of 75% adult clinic and 25% adult geriatric care. Each physician typically sees 18-20 established patients per day, all referred through Banner primary care. The patient population is adults aged 18 and older, and there is no hospital coverage involved. The role is based in an ambulatory primary care setting, focusing on chronic disease management, acute care, hospital follow-ups, annual wellness visits (AWV), and inbox management. Coverage is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with 9 clinic sessions and 1 administrative session for chart completion. Daily call coverage is required, and the candidate must be board-certified in Internal Medicine, have an active AZ license or be an IMLC candidate with an active LOQ, and possess an AZ DEA. The locum will also be set up with payors.
